August 11 MySpace is down - againMySpace is down, again. I'm able to enter my login information but after that it just halts at a blank white page. Talked to another MySpace user and they're having the same problem. Go MySpace !! This guy makes me feel like a little girl.I love to workout. But I haven't always been like this. I use to hate working out, I never had the energy for it. When I ran cross country in high school I hated that too. I use to think I had some kind of vitamin deficiency because I was always totally tired even though I didn't do anything (including going to work). Then somewhere along the way I realized that if I want to have a long life I have to workout. Every study about longevity says that working out is one of the key things to do if you want a long life. At first I started with Yoga, which is a really really good exercise. Then I started doing push ups every day. Then I started going on long fast walks. Then I started going on long bike rides during the heat of the day. And I'm talking about really tough bike rides - nothing was easy about this. The average temperature was about 100 Texas degrees when I was doing these two and three hour bike rides. Then I started going to the gym and hitting the weights. Since all this started about 10 months or so ago I've gotten great results. My body looks better, my mind is more clear, my self esteem is way up and I have tons more energy than I've ever had in my entire life. It turns out working out actually creates energy. So today at the crack of dawn (about 7:45am CST) I decided to take a walk into downtown Houston which is about 3 miles away. My walk lasted for about 2 hours and I ended up covering about 8 miles since I decided to walk around downtown for a hour or so. It was great fun - I got to watch all the regular out of shape Joe's go to work while I was getting my workout on listening to my mp3 player, I really enjoyed it. So I was feeling like a real big man today - I walked almost 10 miles before noon ! That is until I read this guys blog. Apparently this guy has ridden his bike almost 2,000 miles in 7 months ! Amazing stuff considering he is 46 - a full 20 years older than me ! So my hat goes off to Tom aka The Amazing Shrinking Man for all his hard work - I wish him nothing but the best. |
